This song began about writing about times that my best friend and I used to share. I’d promised Ezra I’d take him to a movie and I sent him to look for his shoes while I recorded. I didn’t really have an ending for the song and Ezra walked in and said he couldn’t find his shoes at pretty much the perfect moment. I decided to leave it there.
