Dare You Now

from Silver Linings by Ryan Oyer

/

about

Another Februwriters tune, I spent a lot of that month thinking about getting older which shapes a lot of this album. The first line in this song is partly where the album title comes from. I met the Clarinet choir a few years ago on “Make Music Day” and I knew I wanted to work with them.

lyrics

When all my silver linings
Seem to gather in my hair
When a murder of crows feet
Walk across the mirror
When quietness and stillness
Takes the place of our soirée
Will I take on the garden
And you the knit crochet?

Will you be there for me
When there's no songs left to sing?
I dare you now, to grow old with me

When life becomes vicarious
And adventures are all through
Will I still be the man
Who gives his hand and heart to you?
When time comes to claim back
All the wisdom I have gained
Will you be there beside me
Proudly wearing my last name?

Will you be there for me
When there's no songs left to sing?
I dare you now, to grow old with me

Will you be there for me
When there's no songs left to sing?
I dare you now, to grow old with me
