Mother May I?

from Silver Linings by Ryan Oyer

/

about

My sister Erin and I wrote this song together for our Mom before she passed away. Butch recorded Erin’s parts on my birthday which is one of the coolest presents ever. My Mom used to sing “You Are My Sunshine” to me. Erin and I also collaborated on the artwork for the single. We released it as a single on Mother’s Day.

lyrics

Mother was it hard to raise me?
Mother did I make it easy?
Mother did I make you proud of me?

Mother did I make you happy?
Mother am I just like Daddy?
Mother did I make you proud of me?

Mother did I make you worry?
Mother I am in no hurry
Mother did I make you proud of me?

I never meant make you sorry
I do these things because you love me
Mother did I make you proud of me?

Mother may I love you dearly?
You’re always in my heart sincerely
Mother did I make you proud of me?

Mother will you always love me?
Mother can you hear me singing?
Mother does it make you proud of me?
Mother does it make you proud of me?
